The real name of Mr. Truong Xa is Truong Chi Cuong. He joined the revolution from a young age, gathered to the North in 1954 and worked at the Border Reconnaissance Department of the People's Armed Police of Vinh Linh - Quang Binh from January 1955 until later.
Due to his outstanding achievements during period of working at the Border Reconnaissance Department of the People's Armed Police of Vinh Linh Special Zone, Mr. Truong Xa was sent to attend the IV Festival Congress of Heroes of the People's Armed Forces held at Ba Dinh Hall - Hanoi. At this Congress, Mr. Truong Xa was conferred the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces and was awarded a wristwatch by President Ho Chi Minh at the end of the Congress on January 1, 1967. This is a sacred souvenir that encouraged him to overcome all difficulties and hardships to complete all the tasks assigned by the Party and Uncle Ho. He treasured the watch for many years until May 20, 1999, when he donated it to the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Thua Thien Hue.
