In Vinh Giang Commune, Phu Loc District, Ms. Le Thi Te, born in 1923, kept a 100 VND banknote with the image of President Ho Chi Minh issued in 1949. During the two resistance wars, she kept this banknote in a bamboo tube, buried under the sand in her homeland to hide it from the enemy and preserved Uncle Ho's memorabilia. This banknote became her spiritual strength. During the years when her homeland was occupied by the enemy, she still believed that Uncle Ho was always with her. Through many difficulties, Ms. Le Thi Te gave this memento to Comrade Que and Musician Minh Phuong in 1975. In 1999, Mr. Minh Phuong transferred it to the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Thua Thien Hue for storage, preservation and display.
In Thuy Bang Commune, Huong Thuy Town, Mr. Tran Thanh Toan, a retired cadre once gathered in the North. The memorabilia of his life are the banknotes with President Ho Chi Minh's image which he had got for the first month's salary in his army's life and has kept since 1952. When he went to the Southern battlefield, he asked someone to keep it in the North. After 1963, he brought these banknotes back to his homeland. These banknotes were issued by the National Bank of Vietnam in 1952, with a face value of 20 Vietnam dong, and the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh. Overcoming many hardships to covering the eyes of the enemy, he successfully kept the banknotes printed with Uncle Ho's image as a source of encouragement during his participation in revolutionary activities until the victory day. He later donated them to the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Thua Thien Hue.
In addition, many banknotes with Uncle Ho's image were also presented to the Ho Chi Minh Museum from the people of Thua Thien Hue. Uncle Ho has passed away, but the love of the Vietnamese people in general and the people of Thua Thien Hue in particular for him remains forever.
